  • 17m 7s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 17s / 100 meters
What would you do differently?:

I did not maintain a good routine between LV Tri and PumpkinMan. I would have gotten more pool time between the two events for sure. I know I could do better than this.
Transition 1
  • 04m 8s
Comments:

I was much better getting on the bike this time.
What would you do differently?:

I still need clip in shoes.
Bike
  • 1h 27m 51s
  • 12 miles
  • 8.20 mile/hr
Comments:

I did not prepare for this and it bit me square in the butt. There was an 8% grade for the last 2 or 3 miles I believe and I totaly blew it. I actually stopped and did not advance for about 15 minutes at one point because I wasn't sure I could advance the bike and not be on it. Once I figured that out I continued and eventually made it to the transition but I had defeated myself for the day.
What would you do differently?:

Work hills, work hills and don't get lazy between events. I will maintain at least a "maintenance" routine between events and I will train the course at least twice prior to events.
Transition 2
  • 02m 21s
Comments:

Same as LV Tri. I am still in cages and the transition is pretty straight forward.
Run
  • 33m 46s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 52s  min/mile
Comments:

I was mentally beat by this point. The bike portion had discouraged me and I was not all that excited about another 3 miles of torture. This is my own fault of course for not preparing well enough for this event.
What would you do differently?:

PREPARE BETTER.
Post race
Event comments:

This event is awesome. My not doing well was a result of my own lack of preparation, but the event organizers have a real winner here. I was discouraged during the race but determined to master that course. The bike was the crazy part and I know it wasn't the harddest course in the world but it is now on my mission to master list. I will definiely be there next year and would like to get to the Olympic distance in 2010.
