Overall Rank = 238/1001

Age Group Rank = 5/57
Pre-race routine:

Up at 6:00. Had some breakfast and loaded the gear in the car and we were all off to Hemet.
Event warmup:

Little jog around the transition area
Swim
  • 02m 5s
  • 164 yards
  • 01m 16s / 100 yards
Comments:

It was a super short pool swim. I'm under the impression that any more than 150m of swimming may result in some people drowning.

I jumped in feet first expecting the bottom of the pool and sunk to the bottom of the 13 foot pool.
What would you do differently?:

Pay attention to the fact that the pool is actually deep.
Transition 1
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

T1 was run to bike (this was an estimate time considering there were no spilts. Little bit of a log jam getting out of transition. Did a really good job transitioning. We do transition runs at turbo every Tuesday night so I'm getting fairly good and transitioning fast.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I was really happy with this transition.
Bike
  • 35m
  • 12 miles
  • 20.57 mile/hr
Comments:

Hopped on the bike and spent a good amount of time passing people. I'm not the fastest biker but I've been working on pushing it and that's what I did. I usually I pass as many people as pass me but not in this race. I did a good amount of passing. Pushed a big gear throught the race. It was quite fun. I've never broken 20MPH average in a race and today was my day.
What would you do differently?:

Consider pushing a little harder. I only had 150m swim left.
Transition 2
  • 01m
Comments:

T2 was bike to swim. Dropped bike off, grabbed cap and goggles and I was off. I ran really fast to the pool.
What would you do differently?:

nothing ... fastest transition ever
Run
  • 25m 25s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 10s  min/mile
Comments:

Paced myself great on the run. Really happy with what was left in the tank when I was done. I had enough to hammer out the bike course.
What would you do differently?:

Consider pushing it a little harder. My running has improved but I still have a ways to go.
Post race
Warm down:

Jogged over to get towel from transition. Came back to finish to see my friend cross the finish line.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think I may have held back just a little too much.

Event comments:

This is a great little race. They had an amazing turn out. From the reults page it appears that just over 1000 racers came out. Very cool. I would consider doing this race again.
