Felt great compared to the week before when I was sick of running. I had a gel 5 minutes prior to the run and then at 32 mi (a caffeinated one) and I felt great the rest of the way. The 2 water stops were perfect and I carried along 2 8oz bottles of Nuun. I was psyched that I felt great. I PR'd for a 10K - not the fastest runner, but I didn't focus on that for this run. Had long stides and felt great running up the last hill.
What would you do differently?:
Maybe take the gel 5 minutes sooner. Push my ability a bit more in the last half.
Walked around. Sad that I didn't stretch. Had fruit and water.
What limited your ability to perform faster:
Practicing fitness to go faster. My mind was wandering and caught myself going slower.
Fun time, fun course, great weather this year.

13oz coffee, 8oz water, 16oz gatorade, banana, 2 slices whole wheat - one with cream cheese and one with lightly spread jam, single serving of oatmeal. I was full enough that I didn't need a clif bar or banana before the run. Major difference was having gatorade again and going back to whole wheat toast instead of a white bread bagel. Had a Gu 5 minutes before the run.
Jogged to and from the car - 1/2 mi. total.
