Run
Comments: Great run! Very happy with the time. Course was very flat and fast with a lot of twists and turns. The "elite" group was out like a cannon but the rest of us held a small pack for about 1/2 mile. My sister and I ran together for the first half and were able to extend out by mile 1.5. Sis dropped back after having a little knee tightness but held on for second in the woman's race. I let one guy get ahead of me on a turn and was never able to pull him back. Pulled him in by the finish but, unfortunately, not enough course to catch him. What would you do differently?: Maybe warm up a bit more. This was a new PR for this distance by about 45 seconds so I can't complain that much! Post race
Warm down: Walk around in circles. What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight...would like to see how I race at 200. Was 228 at yearly check up yesterday. Event comments: This race was very fun. It is a small, neighborhood 5k that - if the word gets out - will gain a nice local following. There should be more of these races out there...we will be back next year! The race was organized by a local triathlete who just did IM Florida. Very nice and he had a great family to help him. Cool shirts that I need to go back and get. Last updated: 2008-11-26 12:00 AM

Nothing! Change a few diapers, get the jogger in the car, get mom in the car, pick up sister.
.25 mile jog. Light stretch. Not much prep for this one.
