Pre-race routine:

Got up and prep'd stuffing, got turkey out..etc.. fed my son breakfast..and finally got dressed, gulped a coffee or 2, gobbled (no pun) a breakfast bar down in the car during the 20 min ride. Froze my bamboozles off while waiting to start race. Went by my lonesome but saw a couple of peeps I knew.

Went back to car for a spell...drank some coffee, water...then hit portopots.

Comments:

Was cold when we started...fingers and toes..but by the end, I was unzipping clothes to let air in...whew! Paced myself between 2 young guys and another guy around my age..they'd pass, i'd pass etc... then at end, I pushed it more. Ankles felt a bit stiff from cold.
What would you do differently?:

Pushed it more sooner. Easy to keep going within a crowd of other runners!
Post race
Warm down:

waited in lines for free mini pumpkin pies and tee shirts...then drove to mother in law's house to pick her up and take her to our house for Thanksgiving.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Cold and I seeded myself to the way back so when we started, I could not pass people very easily.

Event comments:

Great race - well organized. Lots of porto pots, good pies, nice tee shirts.
