Run
Comments: I was thrilled to get this time. Considering my knee was scoped in November and I had no idea how this would affect me. I came out a little too fast, the corral I was in was full of thoroughbreds, wow... some of those folks can run. I barely qualified for that corral. I knew at mile 7 I was still going strong but I worried about how it would affect my last 3 miles. All was going well, miles 11-12 were a little rough and had some cramping which I controlled with pace. Once the last mile came "it was on!". I couldn't get back to my earlier pace but it was good. Great race, great venue, some great bands and some not great bands on the course. Some cloggers, some square dancers, some cheerleaders, and for some odd reason two people in chipmunk costunes. What would you do differently?: Nada. Maybe cut back 3-5 sec/mi in the first 5 miles. Post race
Warm down: Food, beer, and walking. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing, the weather was PERFECT - overcast and 55 deg Event comments: Great race, I'll be back. Last updated: 2008-11-30 12:00 AM

Bummed around the start line, had a small breakfast.
Stretched and did a few accelerations. I am fortunate to be in the lead corral, so I was warming up with some of the pros and Kenyans. I met a guy and I told him, by god I am beating a kenyan today! So during warmups I just hammered past one of the pros and then at the end of the road I broke out in celebration, the kenyan thought it was pretty funny.
