Run
Comments: I was very excited for this race; i've been training regularly and felt good. That good feeling evaporated as mile 3 started and i realized that i hadn't eased off the training and my legs felt like they were 100lbs each! I started out pretty fast (not as fast at Tufts) but i thought i could maintain for a lot longer than i did. i walked for 30-60 sec at each water stop (which there were 2 and irregularly spaced) and again this didn't give me the usual refreshment. What would you do differently?: this was a good pre-Hyannis 10K experience - i'll definitely taper for hyannis. RUN FASTER Post race
Warm down: little vitamin water and a little stretch... then many bloody mary's, chili and nachos with Boston Beginner and Running4Beer What limited your ability to perform faster: I was over-dressed. it was hard to gauge what the wind was going to do so i went with my running jacket - i was overheated by mile 3 and grumpy and uncomfortable. Event comments: the start was NOT organized; the start/finish line was pushed back a the end of an industrial park and there were lots of snow and ice piles. NO seeding which i overheard frustrated a lot of 'faster runner' - the head count went from 300 to 1500 from last year so i guess that's just growing pains. Last updated: 2008-12-01 12:00 AM
