Run
Comments: Wandered up to the start line and found Kam warming and waiting in her car. Met Mike running to registration as part of his warm up! We all hung at the back for the start. The road was snow covered and with the cold I wasn't sure how hard I was going to push the pace. I was planning on starting out slower than normal race and build the pace according to how I felt. A mile and half in I started to warm up and felt pretty good, plus we were on some better traveled roads with some bare road so I starting upping the pace. After that I tried to run hard up the hills and recover some on the downhills. Maintain a steady pace on the flats. Harder when I had pavement, easy when I was on snow. At times it felt like my feet were going a lot faster than I was moving from the snow. It is kind of like running in sand. I was glad to finally find the finish line. What would you do differently?: Stayed home in bed! :) Post race
Warm down: Walked back up the course and ran in with Mike and Dudley and cheered Kam in. She did great considering all the distractions she has had the last couple of months. We all then wandered up to the cabin for some post race chow! What limited your ability to perform faster: Probably the snow on the road was the biggest. My goal in the next week is to either get some trail shoes or Yak Tracks for the next race in a couple of weeks. Event comments: This race is part of a series put on by runners for runners. Good way to get a good run in every couple of weeks. Not a lot of frills, but it is the best race bargain around! Last updated: 2008-12-01 12:00 AM

Sit and stare at the thermometer and wonder "am I really this crazy?" Connie asked me am I really going to run this morning or have I come to my senses? I explain that I am picking up Dudley and meeting Mike and Kam and it is a man law violation to be the first one to back out. She just shook her head.
Sat in the truck and prayed for a sudden heat wave!
