Comments: Very fast, a personal best by far, even for a 5k run. Using my Adidas race shoes was great. No problems with the legs, and they felt light and fast. Up hill I am slow, so I need to train that, on the flat I am very fast! What would you do differently?: Actually I know that I can start fast. I need to train more up hill. Transition 1

Comments: First leg of 10k head wind, and at the end it was about 800 m up hill. Head wind on the big mill, with the middle cog at the back, up hill I switched to the small mill, and 3rd cog from the inside! Back Big mill, with pretty good pacing. Average cadence was 90, so I was probably going above that a lot! HR average 145 (85%). But I overtook quite a lot of people, and that felt very good! What would you do differently?: Train more on ME, train more on climbing, I could have gone faster in the end... Transition 2
Run
Comments: It felt slow, and it was significantly slower than the first run, but still not very bad. Legs felt heavy when going up the hill. What would you do differently?: Run faster! Post race
Warm down: Walk, drink a lot, stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of ME on the bike, more practice in transitions, hill running! Event comments: Just a nice race close to home. I enjoyed it, hope it will be in Piikkiö again next year! Last updated: 2008-12-02 12:00 AM

Easy week, with a race simulation of 50k/9.7k on Tuesday. For the rest easy, I was not tired at all. Then I ate a lot of rice the evening before, and I loaded during the morning: 2 bread with honey, loading drink, bananas. And I had enough fuel on board, clearly!
Just a short jog, and stretching.
