Not much had something to eat and drove to the race and got my stuff and my son stuff set up

Comments:

This was my second swim in 6 months shoulder fells great and I was able to keep a good steady pace for the whole distance. My wife videoed the swim and I now see some things to fix.
What would you do differently?:

Swim more and keep track of laps. I was of one lap and had stuff left over. could have sprinted the last 100 when I only did 50.

Second ride out side. all the rest of my time has been on rollers. I was shocked to see that I had little to no energy in my legs. They a re still shot after running my 50k last weekend. I was thinking that I was recovered when I was not. I pushed too hard on the way out into the wind and then took it easy on the way back HR was high and I knew I was going to feel it on the run.
What would you do differently?:

Nor run a 50k the weekend before...or I should say not do a tri the weekend after a 50k trail run but spend the time recovering.

What a struggle of a run. No bricks in 10 months so legs were in shock being expected to run after biking. I had no pop in the legs. felt slow and tired. My 50k too everything out of them. the hills flt like mountains. the only thing that saved me was the return run was mostly down hill and my pride kicked in and I picked up the pace and pushed it.
What would you do differently?:

Not race a week after doing a 50k trail race.

Event comments:

I took second in the 40-45 clyds division and my son took 4th in his age group. We had a good showing for the family. this is are 3rd year doing this race together and we will keep the tradition alive and hope to get the other kids in the family doing them soon.
