Swim
Comments: Such a crazy swim, probably the worst I've been in yet. So many people and everyone going in different ways! Why some people can't swim straight (or close to it) is beyond me. Even on the way back people were all over the place. Finally I decided to move to the outside and swim on my own for a while. Drank quite a bit with all the shoving and arms flailing everywhere. What would you do differently?: Start in a different spot? Transition 1
Comments: Loooong run to transition, but that was okay, I'm a runner! Was really close to bike exit so decided to put shoes on and run to exit. What would you do differently?: not much Bike
Comments: South winds started to pick up at the start of the second lap, but it made it nice coming back. Rode fairly hard, felt like I pushed more than last year but I only took 3 mins off my time. What would you do differently?: Try not to get sick 2 weeks before the race! Transition 2
Comments: Good transition, I'm happy What would you do differently?: not much Run
Comments: Took a long time to get my running legs. Kept my cadence up and tried to find my pace, but it wasn't there today. My running has definitely fallen back this year. Post race
Warm down: Stretch, chat with some people, drink water, then get a massage! What limited your ability to perform faster: being sick so much lately, training geared towards Ironman not a half, no proper peak/taper Event comments: Good race, good course, nice people, great group of racers Last updated: 2008-12-03 12:00 AM

Stayed at a campground right beside the start line so it was great not to have to worry about forgetting something. Although I forgot my helmet at home so I "had" to buy an aero helmet! ;) I really did forget it though, but it all worked out good in the end!
Good swim warm up, but they started a bit late so it was more of a practice swim. Then just stand around with Chris (hazmaster) and Ronin, and said Hi and good luck to Dan (crazypop) and Leah (Drleah).
