Run
Comments: Had a good start. Side stitch started at around Mile 1.5 and was bugging me for at least half a mile, I kept running through it. Hit the park at around Mile 2.5 and because the path was quite narrow for the amount of people, I was stopped up in some traffic. At around mile 4, my left knee started bothering me. The last hill was right at mile 6 and I was ready to be done with this. My goal was to do this race under 58 mins. That didn't happen, but I am still happy with my result. What would you do differently?: Start out a little slower, but therefore increase speed throught the race and not the other way round. Post race
Warm down: Stretched asap, because left knee and hamstring were very tight and then walked back to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: The small stuff (side stitch, traffic, knee pain), but overall this was a good pace for my first 10K. Event comments: The only thing that I would have liked to see, would be a couple more volunteers that are cheerful. When I hit the water station after the finish line, they ran out of cups. Chatted around with some people and then jogged around the block.
