Sunny
Total Time = 2h 21m 42s
Overall Rank = 2305/3651
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 180/223
Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:45...drank some coffee and had alittle breakfast. Like most I was disapointed about the swim being cancelled but completly understand the rational. Got transition set up then relaxed untill the start
Event warmup:

Not much due to TT format. Just some stretching while waiting in line.
Swim
  • 00m
  • 1640 yards
  • / 100 yards
Comments:

no swim
Transition 1
  • 01m 26s
Comments:

Started with helmet on but had to change into my bike shoes. I have practiced starting with my shoes clipped in but I seem to spend more time getting them tight enough that if I just put them on in transition.
What would you do differently?:

I guess practice with shoes already clipped in more
Bike
  • 1h 24m 55s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 17.56 mile/hr
Comments:

I was having a great bike averaging 23mph then I got a flat. Changed the tube got back on the road and 7 minutes later got another flat. Since I used my one and only tube I ended up having to take my bike shoes off and running the last 2.5 miles of the course while pushing my bike. Oh well....every race presents with its own set of challanges...
What would you do differently?:

Not get 2 flat tires
Transition 2
  • 02m 3s
Comments:

I was a little tired from my pre-run run so I took and extrat minute before starting my real run.
Run
  • 50m 20s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 07s  min/mile
Comments:

My feet hurt from running with out shoes on the asphault for 2.5 miles so I took some time to get going. Finaly settled into an ok pace. Would have liked to have gone faster but considering the circumstances I'm pleased with my run.
What would you do differently?:

not run 2.5 miles before running 6.1 miles
Post race
Warm down:

Food....Beer....massage

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just some bad luck on the bike...next year will be different.

Event comments:

Even though they cancelled the swim I still enjoyed my day. Even a bad day of racing is better than not being able to race at all.....
