Comments:

Good run thru town. I had little expectations since I was only 4 weeks out form the last marathon, and had done very little training and a whole lot eating. It was very warm and humid and windy. I was surprised at how quickly I started out, but I was feeling good, so I thought I would see how I could hold out. The first 13 miles were hilly, but rolling. THen there was a 2.5 mile out and then back section where I started feeling a little tired. At mile 18, we turned off the mail flat stretch and started climbing again. It got pretty tough in through here. The climbs were hard, but I was abkle to keep it going on the flats. The downhills actually felt pretty good to stretch the legs a bit, but they werre always followed by another hill. I was still keeping a pretty good pace, but by the last 3 miles, I was crawling up the hills. I knew this wasn't a PR course especially with the weather, so I let it slide a bit - live to run another day
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I don't think I went out too hard or anything, it was just a tough course. I kept a smooth pace for the first 20 miles, and then the hills got me
Post race
Warm down:

walked around for 10 minutes with Tim, adn went back to get ready to drive home

What limited your ability to perform faster:

the heat, humidity, adn mainly the hills

Event comments:

The race was good, not great. The expo was easy to navigate and there were tons of volunteers around. The race got started on time. The course was extremely hilly - nothing terribly steep, just constant climbing. THe pavement on the roads was terrible, not that the organizers could have done anything about it. The hills were jsut relentless, especially in the last 6 miles. It was bood to do this one for MS. I can't imagine running the other MS marathon in September- the heat would be brutal. The volunteers were outstanding, very vocal and helpful.

Course: rolling hills through Jackson. Never flat, except for a 5 mile stretch from 13-18, then back climbing to the end. Probably the hardest amrathon course I have done
