Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4:45 or so. Gathered up my stuff and headed out, bagel, coffee and water in hand. Drove next door and picked up my neighbor since he wasn't waiting.
Event warmup:

We took MARTA and endured that (it irritates me that I have to pay EXTRA for a breeze card that frickin EXPIRES). Talked with folks along the way, sipped my water and stretched a little. Once downtown walked to the site and looked for a place to meet up after. Hit the porta john, had a gel and found my corral. Waited a few minutes and was running.....

Comments:

I used my garmin and had it set for Avg. Pace. I knew if I was at or under the 9:00/mi I was golden! I did well and totally smoked (for me) the course. I stopped at mile 11 and had to go to the head. It cost me 2 minutes but I couldn't wait any longer..
What would you do differently?:

Train more!!
Post race
Warm down:

Right after I crossed the finish line it was a dead stop!! Waded through the people and got my medal and a blanket, walked some more....

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I did really well and come in under my goal so it was an awesome running day. More training at a higher intensity.

Event comments:

I didn't have a bag checked and it was COLD. I called my neighbor and we met up and headed out. Maybe next year I'll check a bag with some clothes in it and hang out awhile.

Course: I like running through all the different areas of town and also like the diversity of terrain. The course is nice although not easy.
