Run
Comments: read above What would you do differently?: I was unable to train consistently for the month leading up to this race due to some tendinitis, so all things being what they were, I would not have done anything differently. If I could change the past, I wouldn't get injured and train more. This was my first 26.2 and based on the training I was able to put in, i'm satisfied with my time. Post race
Warm down: Walk into the arena, grab a beer and sit down for a while. Then it was back to the car before we headed to Trinity Hall to meet my wife, daughter, Matt, and Shannon for some more beers and some Irish Mulligatawny stew. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training during the last month. Event comments: The race was great, plenty of aid stations, plenty of volunteers. The post-race activities were lacking considering the size of the event and the entry fee (compared to other races). Last year they had a lot of local vendors inside the arena after the race offering food, coffee, etc. This year there was some Mich Ultra and that was it. It did make things much less crowded. Woke up around 5:30, put on some clothes, packed my bag, and ate a a couple of Ego waffles and ate a banana.
walked from the parking lot under 45 to the AAC to meet up with some co-workers - the first few miles of the race were my warmup.
