Run
Comments: Since this was the first race I've been able to participate in for over a year, my plan was too start off easy, see how I felt and go from there. Started way to the back and ran easy for the first mile. This felt pretty good so I picked it up some for the last 2, but it was still a pretty comfortable pace. Ran something like 9:50;8:58;8:50 min/mile. What would you do differently?: Nothing - considering that I only started running again about 6-7 weeks ago and am only 3.5 months out from hip surgery, I was a)pleased to even be out there and b)more than happy with the results. Post race
Warm down: Ha! - more like how to keep warm?? What limited your ability to perform faster: a) Being injured for >1yr; incl 6+ months on crutches b) only been running for 6-7 weeks since having surgery on my hip in Sept c) all running so far has been a progressive walk/run mix - this was my first run since Sept '07 where I did no walking. Event comments: A good, basic no-frills race, which is perfect for a winter day on Colorado. Last updated: 2008-12-20 12:00 AM

Stayed in the car as long as possible - ~10min run that determined I was wearing too many layers - back to the car to shed layers and stay warm.
