Swim
Comments: I really felt good during this swim right from the start. I thought I would have had a better time because I felt so efficient... Oh well. What would you do differently?: Pick it up a little more? Transition 1
Comments: My transition felt smooth and efficient. My bike was kind of far from the bike out and that required a run across the transition field. Before mounting my bike I noticed my chain had dropped so I had to fool around with that before I could get going. Otherwise I felt good. What would you do differently?: Nothing? Bike
Comments: Although my time doesnt really reflect this- I felt really good on the bike. I hit a top speed of 32 miles/hour which is a really big deal for me (afraid of my bike). I didn't go aero and I wish I didn't have any fear of this. I did bike my heart out and kept it in my large chain ring with a high cadence for the ride. What would you do differently?: Try to go Aero!!! Not ride my breaks on the last part of the hill! Transition 2
Comments: I forgot to put my race belt on with the number. I started out of transition then had to turn around to get it because I hear you could be disqualified if your number isn't on. How stupid! I'll bet this cost me a full minute on the run time. What would you do differently?: Put my race belt/ race number on before the swim so I don't have to worry about forgetting it. Run
Comments: Running is always a chore for me. The run time they have posted is 29:13. I know this included my lengthy transition, so I am taking credit for what my watch says and what I know to be the true distance of the course. What would you do differently?: Keep doing speed work, I have to get better at the leg turnover. Post race
Warm down: Cheering the others on as they came in- had a piece of the sandwich sub and then stuck around for the awards ceremony. Barb and Jean came in 2nd and 3rd overall- They rocked! What limited your ability to perform faster: I need to lose weight!!! Event comments: I like this race. I liked it last year too. Very nice- lots of volunteers. I think the whole town. Course is nice too. Last updated: 2008-12-20 12:00 AM

Nothing spectacular- I had the car packed and ready to go so all I needed to do was get dressed then meet the girls at the Gold's Gym parking lot to head over to the race. I did the 2 scoops perpetuem and 1 scoop HEED for breakfast. Once at the race site, I took 3 Race Caps and 2 Anti-fatigue caps. just prior to my wave I took a gel and had water handy for the bike.
Jogged about 2 seconds in flip flops- does that count?
