Run
Comments: Felt really good. Talked with my brother and other runners throughout the race. Not the entire time, of course. This year I took the 13.1 miles in segments. I felt like I just ran from one water station to the next rather than worrying about miles. My mind likes to tell me things like.."legs are getting tired, feet are hurting..." This time I felt so much better. Last year my legs hurt so bad for days after that you would have thought I had never run before in my entire life. They are a little sore the day after but not too bad. What would you do differently?: I think if I lost 10 pounds I would feel so much better. Been dealing with those pounds for awhile though. Post race
Warm down: Met up with our older brother from Montana who flew out to join us for the event and our parents and took a few pictures and headed out. Event comments: Well organized and lots of volunteers. The course is run through some rather ugly parts of town, but you can't beat the weather. It was 79 degrees Thursday-Sunday. It's a great motivator for running in the winter and a great little get away for me. Last updated: 2008-12-27 12:00 AM

Got up at 6 am and ate peanut butter toast and a banana along with Powerade Zero and a must, Diet Coke. Left my mom and dad's place about 6:50 a.m. and headed for Phoenix. This year traffic wasn't nearly as congested as last year so we were dropped off at 7:20 about 5-6 blocks from the corrals.
Used the port-a-potties (twice) and they were the nastiest ones I have ever used. Walked to corral #3 with about 15-20 to spare. Walked around. My brother wanted to jog...nah!
