Pre-race routine:

The race wasn't until 2pm so I took my time getting ready. I ate some leftover lasagna around 11:30am and then I ate two slices of toast with peanut butter and honey on the way to the race site (around 1:00). stretching.
Event warmup:

After parking, I walked 1/4 mile to the packet picket, 1/4 mile back to my car, and then I jogged the 1/4 mile back to the start line and started stretching.

Comments:

I started off way to fast, as always (1st mile = 7:47). I slowed it down because I knew that I still had three big hills to deal with. The last hill got to me (around mile 2.8) and I felt like I was running out of gas. I kept pushing through though but I wasn't able to 'gun it' when I saw the finish line.
What would you do differently?:

Not take off so freakin' fast. I always do that and I always end up paying for it at the end - so frustrating! I would also push myself more up the last hill.
Post race
Warm down:

I walked around for a minute and stretched. I then grabbed a slice of pizza (thanks Papa John's!) and a delicious cookie (thanks Great Harvest!) and hung out for a bit.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Taking off to fast in the beginning instead of pacing myself.

Event comments:

This is my second year doing this race, and my fourth time running this course and I love it. It's sponsored by my running club and they do an excellent job of keeping things organized and on time.
