Pre-race routine:

got to the course 2 hours prior - swim starts at 9:30, I racked my bike at 7:15... no, I wasn't the first one there... :) Walked the transition courses, talked with a couple of guys next to me - made some new tri friends! :)

lost my goggles and broke my wetsuit's zipper 10 minutes before start. I said screw it, I am NOT done for the day - I'm swimming!

carry extra goggles
have help with zipping up my wetsuit

got the wetsuit off pretty easily - helped that it was already unzipped.... ;)

had the socks rolled up, and they unrolled pretty easily onto my wet feet. pretty easy transition

ouch. both calves cramped up as soon as I got off the bike. had a decision to make, decided I couldn't quit now... calves quit cramping after a half mile or so, I walked/jogged the rest of the course. hammy's were trying to cramp, and the whole body was just done.

I wasnt in quite as good of shape as I thought I was....

Course: around the backside of Foy's lake, down to Wisher's junkyard on Cemetary Road and back. Couple of nice hills coming back to deal with. Sucked getting passed - the old girl just would not go any faster! I was at 'hull speed' most of the time. Don't think my endurance/fitness level made as much difference on the bike, except maybe on the hills and recovering from the hills
