First Duathlon, so I was a little unsure of what pace I should use on the 1st run. I noticed my calves, but felt no pain or cramping.
What would you do differently?:

Not used to going run to bike, but did not have any real issues. Was able to get clipped into my pedals with no problem which is always a concern.

Felt good through out the bike ride. I did more passing this year than past years and did not get passed by any mountain bikers which is always a little tough on the ego for me.

Nothing, best ride I have had to date.

Got out on my pedals a little to early and had to pedal with one leg a couple of times to make it to the dismount spot.

I felt my calves acting up right off the bike, so I started slow waiting for them to cramp up. THe cramps never came and all the discomfort went away at about the half way point. I felt like I finished strong.

Event comments:

With the water temp at 52 degrees, I made the last second switch to the duathlon. I was a little uncertain at the start, but I could not have expected a better performance. Very happy with my result.
