Swim
Comments: Tried to keep my calfs from cramping again. First time I've been in the water and already tired! What would you do differently?: Not much, I could have gone faster but circumstances being what they were I'm happy with it. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Ride wasn't bad. the course started off pretty empty but the 2nd and 3rd loops were crowded. I just tried to pick my way through. on the back part of the 2nd and 3rd loops I got pretty sever cramps in my right and left legs respectively. Bad enough that I had to stop pedaling and cruise. This is where people passed me: bummer! What would you do differently?: Not cramp up! Transition 2
Run
Comments: I'm pretty sure the run course was long. The fastest solo 5k time was 20:xx which just doesn't make sense and mine was just over 20min and I should have had something close to 18:xx. Oh well, it was a good run, high HR, but felt pretty solid. Def in the top 10... Post race
Warm down: Put dry clothes on and got warm, had some coffee and fruit and waited for the awards What limited your ability to perform faster: The cramps on the bike. This is probably the sorest I've been after a race. Still I enjoyed i. Event comments: Fun race. You can either come for a short laid back training day (what I should have done) or to hammer the whole thing (what I actually did). Either way, it makes for a good early season race. Probably 20 mins of jogging and then some quick sprints 40 mins before the race. Then some more jogging right before the start
