Up at 4:30, ate two pieces of toast. Ate a luna bar closer to race start.

Started out okay for the first mile. Just didn't have the legs to maintain 8ish min pace for the remaining two miles. I'm guessing it was the first run that did me in.

Warm down:

Walked around...drank lots of water. Forgot to stretch, as usual.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The extra 2 mile run affected my ability to run 8 min miles for the 5k.

Event comments:

I saw lots of drafting and lots of beginners not understanding that they need to stay to the right. Plenty of riders just hanging out on the left side of the lane when they weren't passing anybody. Made it difficult to pass safely.
