Comments: What can I say...I came in with a goal of 7:10, and really exceeded my expectations with 7:06 pace. I had a plan to run hard on the hills, as there are 2 major hills and this is a hilly course. Than, take the downhills easy to bring my HR back down. Worked perfectly. Felt great at mile 8, and just pushed it hard. last 2 miles came in at 6:30 each, which I was actually fairly easy as it was all downhill. Could not have worked out better for me, next year 6:XX!! What would you do differently?: Maybe start out slightly faster, but not much. I really feel as if this was a great race and I ran it at a great pace. If I started out slightly faster the first 1-2 miles, I could have gone 6:5X, but not a big deal as I am very pumped with this time. Post race
Warm down: walked to car, got my duffel, walked back to meet up with my wife and friends to have a few beers and typical post race food. What limited your ability to perform faster: nothing Event comments: top notch event. 2,000 runners, good crowds and awesome views throughout the course. I'll be back next year....great time! had toast with PB&J and rice crispy's with a banana and mile....
jogged around a little and used the bathroom. got a massage which actually felt really good...first time I did this.
