Run
Comments: Knocked off the first 2 miles in 8:3x...stopped a bit for water after the 2 mile mark...turned the half-way point, mile 3-4 sucked...4-5 felt good, and 5-6 was rockstar (8:24)...and then buzzed it on in. I've never dropped 6 miles at sub-9 minutes. What would you do differently?: Nada. Good race. Maybe if I lost 20 pounds and ran some more, but really, this was rockstar. Post race
Warm down: Looked for Sugar Daddy at the meetup and couldn't find him, so I went through food tent and to get my bag back. Found Sugar Daddy, called to find Judi's daughters and my girls. Went home. :) Yeah, I'm lame and I suck, but I ran fast. What limited your ability to perform faster: NADA - perfect day - great run...and totally happy with performance. I was looking at this as a B-race, with mary next month, but to PR and feel good - YEAH!!! Event comments: I love the Monument 10K. The bands and fans are awesome. The water is plentiful. The organization is great. I can't say enough good things about this race, especially since they started verifying wave starts this year...I was in a great wave and didn't have to dodge any over-estimating walkers. Drove downtown with Sugar Daddy and the monkeys...we were running behind (where I like to be, at least) and had a beast of a time parking. 2x Diet Pepsi and 1x Luna Bar...damn I miss Mojo Bars...this peanut butter recall thing is really pissing me off. But I digress...Found Judi (QueenZipp) and Jen (Artemis) and met Max (Max)...Judi's daughter watched the monkeys while Sugar Daddy and I ran. Whoo whoo.
Zooming to the start line after waiting far too long in the porta-potty line. Saw my "boss" in the line next to ours.
