Overall Rank = 76/531

Age Group Rank = 13/53
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:15, ate breakfast of egg-whites and a peanut butter and honey sandwich. Met with Nina from my club who was giving me a ride out to the race. Arrived at 5:30ish and found my assigned rack right next ti bike out! Sweet!

Talked to my teammates, Crowny, and John Wright. Warmed up the wetsuit and lined up for the start.
Event warmup:

Not much. Jogged to the chip tent and back.
Swim
  • 10m 57s
  • 656 yards
  • 01m 40s / 100 yards
Comments:

Not going to include ranks because it takes up a lot of time, and typing hurts like hell with this broken arm.
What would you do differently?:

Continue working to improve my swim.
Transition 1
  • 01m 59s
Comments:

T1 includes a long run from the beach to transition.
What would you do differently?:

Gear bike down more for an easier start out of transition.
Bike
  • 43m 42s
  • 15 miles
  • 20.59 mile/hr
Comments:

Struggled a bit into the wind on the way out, the way back was much easier. Did well with the hills and was only passed twice...once in the last 1/4 mile.
What would you do differently?:

Gear down more out of T1 and at the turnaround. Pinched a nerve grinding out of the turn.
Transition 2
  • 00m 46s
Comments:

Great T2 for me
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 24m 45s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

My run is still weak. There were more hills than I remembered here, but none that should have made me this slow. I also drank too much Gatorade on the bike and that upset my stomach during the run.
What would you do differently?:

Drink less on the bike.
Post race
Warm down:

I walked a bit, cheered on friends and teammates at the finish, had Dr. Bob do some ART on my legs and hips, ate, and waited for awards.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Too much fluid on the bike. Lack of Sprint distance focused training.

Event comments:

I love this race. It was great to see Crowny and John again. It was also great racing with the team. I can't say enough about how good of people I've met through there. We had a great turnout for the race, great results, and a good time. Couldnt ask for much more. If this ends up being the last race of this season, it was a great one!
