Swim
Comments: Felt like I wasn't putting any effort in during the first 3/4 of the swim and felt very smooth. Pushed the back end of the swim and came out looking at watch in disbelief because I didn't think I could swim the course that quickly. Almost got T-boned by someone who was trying to get back on course. What would you do differently?: Push a little harder when feeling that comfortable. Transition 1
Comments: Felt really dizzy when I was trying to put my shoes on. May have been trying to rush a little too much. Ran past my row by one but luckily my bike was all the way at the end so it didn't cost me much time. What would you do differently?: Not get dizzy hahahaha. Relax and just go through the list of things to put on. Bike
Comments: 20mph!!!! Pushed the bike to try and gain some ground on people that beat me out of the water. Did just that but got passed by the guy who took first in the age group. Was able to hang with him for a little bit before getting dropped. Took the hills and felt fast and comfortable on them. Felt very smooth although the potholes made me really nervous. Thought I blew a flat at one point because of all the rattling around I was doing and also almost took the tire off the front rim when I hit a ridge in the road trying to pass someone. What would you do differently?: Get more nutrition in me. Transition 2
Comments: Dismount was on a downhill, two guys in front of me were going the same speed as me so I thought I was fine.... wrong. They did flying dismounts and I was forced drag one of my feet on the ground the stop on time and was able to hop off quickly and get running. Struggled getting the running shoes on more than I thought I would. Needed to relax during this one as well. What would you do differently?: Learn to dismount like the "pros"! hahaha. Run
Comments: Ouch. Started off feeling a little uncomfortable. Ended up fighting off cramps during the entire run. Pushed and tried to keep right on the line of almost cramping and cramping. Ended up not cramping up. Felt slow. Was off of my goal pace. Need to work on that a bit. What would you do differently?: More nutrition on the bike to keep from cramping. Post race
Warm down: Walking, stretching, and hydrating. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not much really. Just gotta work on keeping stuff in my system so I don't run out of juice or cramp up.
