Pre-race routine:

Trying to recover from drinking too much last night, the coffee helped.

Jogged down to the start. Shivered.

Comments:

I thought this was a good race this year, I felt good throughout with only some mild hip pain around mile 6. Fell and slid once but just bruised the heel of my hand. I was surprised to see my time last year 3 minutes faster since I ran most of that on a badly sprained ankle, but maybe that was the adrenaline helping. This year I was much happier with my foot placements although those hills really sucked ass.
What would you do differently?:

Get a few more trail runs under the belt. The new trail shoes worked well and we had run the previous weekend so I was glad I at least that practice on trails. Next year maybe I'll have done some more longer runs so that I'm stronger on the hills, but I'm pretty happy with my performance overall.
Post race
Warm down:

Ate some eggs and pancakes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I don't run alot of hills, and with how hilly this course was and how most people walked the hills, it was hard to keep the pace up at times.

Event comments:

I like this race. Nothing more fun than a good hard trail run followed by beer, pancakes and live irish music!
