Swim
Comments: Very flat water with tide very close to ebb. Tape on feet started to come off! What would you do differently?: Use strapping tape and possibly electrical tape to ensure dressings remain on. Transition 1
Comments: Transit from water to Transition Zone is a nice 3-400m run uphill. Had phone slipping on race shirt, ripping one corner of race number off(pinned on). Start of bike was a easy climb, waited unitl over initial crest before slipping into bike shoes. What would you do differently?: Will investigate number belts Bike
Comments: Good Bike course with a couple of short moderate climbs. Felt comfortable throughout. Friends reported several competitors fell at bottom of hill near transition/swim finish area. Transition 2
Comments: Inner-sole of bike shoe slipped out as I removed feet while approaching transition, luckily found it on road after race! Had to remove some of loose dressing tape on feet leaving one sore exposed although this was the least painful sore so was not phased. Run
Comments: Average run with hills in bike leg having taken a bit out of me. Expected an ordinary climb to finish run however felt better and moved better up hill than expected. Post race
Event comments: Well enough organised event. Expect Race Director will get better with further experience if he is open to critique by others. Understand he was part time previously however is now a full time event manager. Prizes for all placegetters appeared to be Glasses, which I feel is a shame. I believe medals, especially for age-groupers are preffered as these can be held onto and/or displayed indefinitely. Last updated: 2009-01-26 12:00 AM
