Run
Comments: Good first run for me! Splits pretty even...run felt good, pushed hard. What would you do differently?: push even harder?? Not really, very happy with this. Transition 1
Comments: again, sl slow clip in at start (not as bad as last weekend though!) What would you do differently?: Probably could have transitioned a BIT faster, did stop to put on gloves and drink some Gatorade. Bike
Comments: rode hard, but couple of times had to remind myself to really push. Leap frogged back and forth with the only girl to come into T1 ahead of me(from my wave, not in my age group). Finally got the lead again with probably 6-7 miles to go, and never saw her again! Good ride, very pleased with my effort and pace. (5th ride outside this year, and one was last weeks Du) What would you do differently?: make sure I KEEP pushing my hardest, without drifting occ to just "riding sorta hard". Those times were few, but WERE there! Transition 2
Comments: had good position for transition. (I was fairly close to bike out and in, opposite for run out...perfect for NOT running in bike shoes very far...way cool!) happy with T2. What would you do differently?: not take as long deciding if, and then taking off gloves. Run
Comments: ok 2nd run, legs a bit tired, (duh) but sure neg split it! I was REALLY happy with that! What would you do differently?: hmmm, not much. First mile was a fair amt slower than it should have been, but guess that says I pushed the bike hard, so Im ok with that! Post race
Warm down: walk around, talk to Mike and Sue Pierson and Bob Wojcik. Had some couple cartons of chocolate milk, chatted with someone I passed on the bike cours. Road my bike back to the car with all my stuff, changed clothes in the car, then back to the site for some French Toast and more choc milk! What limited your ability to perform faster: Im really plesed, went into it thinking my best effort, on a good day with everything aligned, I could do a 1:30-1:32. Did 1:31:35...! I don't think anything limited me, except limited outdoors bike training? Not even an excuse there! Event comments: Very well organized race, Great scenery, esp on the run loop. Great post race food. Great awards! Canvas duffle with the race name and "age group winner" (even 2nd and 3rd said the same thing...) The temp was soooo much better than last week! I had worried that it would be really cold, but the temps rose nicely, to mid 50's by the end of mine. later note: just now got the full results and the girl who beat me was Sue Pierson, and she was 2nd overall. Kinda funny, that I yelled out "and 2nd overall" when she got her award. (Bob Wojcik was taking my pic and I didn't realize that it was Sue announced right after me, meaning she was the 1st place on). Not fair to her that they did not even acknowlege her accomplishment to the crowd. BTW she beat the pants off of me!! Last updated: 2009-01-27 12:00 AM

up @4:40, out the door at 5. Blueberry PopTarts and Diet Pepsi on the road. Applesauce later. Nice drive! Got to the site around 6:45. Plenty of time to wander, and try to locate the BT'ers.
Quick mile or so on the bike to make sure it was shifting properly. (my bike was hanging out with Bob Wojcik's bike all week, had to make sure his Orbea didn't put any bad karma on my Kestrel!) Ran a mile or so with about 4 strides with Lunatic (Sarah Nash). (but never saw her after the race, bummer) Did not find the other Sarah (bbmoozer). Did find a couple other BTers that were on my "list". Couple potty breaks then off to the start.
