Swim
Comments: Had a good swim, my time was much slower than I would like but with the weather conditions and the waves, I was still happy with my swim. Had no idea about my time as my watch was not working because water got into it. Had a good start, stayed to the far right no one was around, the 1st 200m no one was around had no contact. When I went around the 1st Buoy had to look up and navigated around the swimmers we all bunched up, after the turn I moved to the right it was smooth sailing after that until I got to the last Buoy to turn home; the last 150m there were lots of swimmers from the wave before me and I had to swim around them. Overall not bad 6/10 Transition 1
Comments: Slow T1 cold, windy, had trouble with taking off wetsuit by the heels. Had to put on pants and a coat. Was not really in a rush. 4/10 Bike
Comments: The 1st 5km was slow getting up to speed, took some time. Had to get into my shoes, put on my gloves because my hands were cold, and had sixth line coming up. I felt good going up sixth line, I thought with the wind and everything it would be more difficult to climb, I passed more riders than what passed me, I think only 2 rides passed me. At the 5k mark I was at 15mins had a hard time getting that back. On the way back the ride was fun, I had a tailwind and my speed was in the 40's, felt like a pro. Overall time not too bad. Felt good on the bike, did not really push myself on the ride. Overall 6.5/10 Transition 2
Comments: Good T2 the only thing I did was take off my coat. Run
Comments: My run was slower by 3min from last years time, but I felt pretty good on the run I only walked once and it was going up the hill in Hilton Falls, not having my watch I was not sure what my pace was, I thought I was at the 5m pace, I think it would have helped me having it. The 1st 3km was hard, going up Appleby I was shuffling my feet, but did not walk. Once I was in Hilton Falls I felt my pace picked up. The run back was OK it was mostly downhill. Overall 5/10 Post race
Warm down: nothing went to get some food. What limited your ability to perform faster: The weather. Wind Event comments: Had a much slower time than I was hoping for but with the lack of training in the last few months and the weather it was expected. Overall it was an okay day still have 5 weeks till Peterborough. Overall 5/10. Last updated: 2009-01-27 12:00 AM

The night before Debbie and Mike came over, had an easy day went to bed around 10:15 p.m. Got up at 6:00 a.m. had breakfast, two eggs, english muffin coffee and a Yop. Left around 7:05 a.m. got the park at 7:30. It was a cold morning around 6c. I went by myself it was too cold for Nancy and the kids. Kevin got to the park around 8:20, we picked up our race kits. It was a cold and windy day. I did not set any goals for this race, my main focus is the 70.3 in July and Belwood. Before the day of the race I was hoping to be around 2hrs. But at the park with the wind and everything, my main goal was to finish the race. Had no idea what my time would be.
Had a light warm up. It was too cold to do anything. I went in the water for a small swim and to get used to it. The water was cold and choppy, my warm up was around 5 mins.
