Run
Comments: With the training base I have right now ....which is NOTHING, I am super pleased with this. Stayed with Dr. GH & Erica and as this was Erica's first 10k (she had never done 6 miles before) we stayed together for the entire run. Fell into a 4/1 Run/Walk pace pretty quickly and that felt good for all of us and that is what we used the whole race. What would you do differently?: Oh..I don't know...maybe train some. This is an EVENT...not a RACE. The only people who "race" this event are Seeded/Sub-Seeded runners usually 40 min and under and a hand full of Kenyans just here for the huge prize money. This is about an Atlanta tradition for 40 years of going out and running with some friends and having breakfast, beer, whatever afterwards then spending the day with the family. Post race
Warm down: Walked through the park, got the prized T-Shirt then the long treck to the MARTA station. What limited your ability to perform faster: 1) I'm old 2) I'm slow...make that genetically deficient 3) I didn't train 4) It is crowded as crap That pretty much covers it. Event comments: An Atlanta tradition for 55,000 people. Race sells out in just a few hours now that they have gone to online registration. Great destination race for you out-of-towners. If you ever get the chance to do the world's largest 10k then by all means, take it. Last updated: 2009-01-28 12:00 AM

Overslept and had to hurry to meet up with Erica and Dr. GoodHands. Bagel & PB.
We carpooled down to close to the race start. Parked at my secret, personal location and walked over to the start area.
The 3/4 mile walk to the start and some very minor stretching...oh yeah...the workout I got just trying to chew the toughest bagel ever produced in a kitchen ANYWHERE in the universe.
