Pre-race routine:

Get to the race, get Jean and the kids settled in after packet pickup. Go to the bathroom in one of the portajohns (no lineups yet)and drink my gatorade and have a breakfast pita about 45 min. prior to the start of the race.
Event warmup:

Some light ITB and hammy stretching. After walking a fair distance dragging all our crap to the race start, I was already sweating and warmed up.

Comments:

Met Rick and Trixie in the middle of the race. This is where the hills were the worst, I was the most tired and enjoyed the company to help me over the hump. Humidity was wicked. By mile 7 my dri fit socks were soaked and my feet were squishing around in my shoes the last 3 miles.(very unpleasant) Felt some steam for the last mile and finished feeling fairly strong.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Humidity and wet squishy shoes.

Event comments:

Almost 7000 ran the 10 miler and over 550 in my age group. This was a heck of a race.
