Run
Comments: Great run, I wanted to get under 2hrs, but I'm very happy with the time I got, for this being my first organized run... the outside of my right knee hurt quite a bit the last few miles, so that did slow me down a bit. My thought was that much of the run was on the right side of the street, and my body is not used to running at that angle/slope, esp. for that distance. I'm just happy I didn't allow myself to walk any, even though I really wanted to the last couple of miles What would you do differently?: Not much, just train harder next time and beat these times. Weighing about 20 lbs less would probably be ideal too. Trying to get a better sleep the night before. Plenty of room for improvement... Post race
Warm down: Walked it off, getting to the car, and did some stretching as well, right knee pretty stiff and painful, hopefully nothing serious... What limited your ability to perform faster: Knee pain towards the end, and probably started a little too slow, but to me that is better than starting too fast. I didn't sleep very well, partly due to a very active 4yr old sleeping next to me in the hotel bed. Event comments: Very organized, very professional, and great attitudes all around...Lots of people along the way to cheer you on. The weather couldn't have been much better, started off around 50 degrees and slightly overcast. Dry air for easy breathing, and just a light breeze, high in the low 70's, but was done running around 9am. Last updated: 2009-02-03 12:00 AM

Ate a banana, some cereal, a part of a breakfast sandwich and a caffeinated Gel... A few drinks of Gatorade right before the start.
Warm up was hauling a 2 and 4 yr old a mile or two in their new Radio Flyer :) then got to the starting line and did some light stretching.
