Swim
Comments: Great swim, Did not want to push it. Tried to stay long and smooth and conserve energy. Tried to mimic what I wanted to do for Lake Placid, finished the swim with a lot of energy left. What would you do differently?: Warm up a little more Transition 1
Comments: Long run from transition area to bike mount all up hill. Carried my shoes and put them on at the bike mount station. Chain fell off as soon as I jumped on the bike, yeah. Took care of it and took off. Shoes needed to be a little tighter so I took some speed away while I was adjusting. What would you do differently?: I would like to have actual tri shoes and not the ones I hve now. Keep shoes on the bike and transition that way. Bike
Comments: This course was definitly a tough one. I think I could have rode this course better but I was trying to stay comfortable. Got a little slow on some of the hills, lost consentration and did not follow through exactly as planned. What would you do differently?: I would have liked to have crested the hills a little better. Had some trouble getting back up to speed after the hills. Transition 2
Comments: The bike keeped bouncing around as I ran with it and the shoes were catching on the ground. I almost lost the bike as it bounced from left to right. What would you do differently?: I do not know if I had trouble with the bike-run because of the small wheels? (New bike with 700 wheels?) Run
Comments: It started to get hot out there on the course. Legs felt a little heavy at first. It was a tough run and I started to get a little tired the last two miles. Ran with a fuel belt the first 6 miles and then threw it to my dad at the turn around. It was nice to get rid of the extra weight. What would you do differently?: I need new shoes. My feet wre killing me after the 8 mile mark. I had a cut in my left toe that bothered me a lot. How I slpit my toe I do not know. Post race
Warm down: swim in the lake and walked around for 1/2 hour What limited your ability to perform faster: I think it might have been some gear issues. Strength wise I felt fine, I had more feet problems than anything else. Event comments: The support and volunteers at this race was incredible. It was the best I have ever encountered. They made the race. I can not express how great the volunteers were. Last updated: 2009-02-04 12:00 AM
