Swim
Comments: I felt pretty good during the swim, swam right at the buoys and found pretty calm water to swim in. I was shocked to see how slow my time was when I got out but I think everybody felt the swim was long. The water was pretty warm, there's no way I would have wanted to wear my wetsuit anyway. What would you do differently?: Not too much, I could have gone a little faster but I got out of the water feeling strong and I'd rather do that than swim a minute faster and be tired. Transition 1
Comments: Pretty smooth T1, I was a little slow because I had some trouble getting my bike out of the racks and through the other bikes but no big deal. What would you do differently?: Try harder to get an end spot on the rack. Bike
Comments: Pretty happy overall with my ride. I felt like I was in a good groove and just went with it. I feel like I could have pushed it a little harder on the 2nd lap but wanted to save something for what I knew would be a hot run. What would you do differently?: Not much. Transition 2
Comments: Threw on the shoes, dumped a little water over my head and off I went. What would you do differently?: I could have hustled through a little more but I always seem to want to take a couple seconds to make sure I'm all set. Run
Comments: It was hot out there! Felt a little slow on the first lap but started to feel better and better as the run went on. They really did a good job with the aide stations, I think there were 4 on the run and they were handing out cold water (most of which just went over my head). I really enjoyed the last part of the run, I was feeling good and knew I was going to come in with the time I wanted. Olympic distance runs always seem to hurt and this one was no different but it is a good feeling to push yourself towards the finish line! What would you do differently?: I still need to work on my tri running speed, I just can't get going as fast as I know I can run. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Could have gone a little faster running but considering the heat and the fact that I PR'd this race (the previous record was from 2006) I'm totally happy. Event comments: Fun times racing, great to see everybody out there and hang out at the ESKCTC tent and enjoy some beers afterwords. Last updated: 2009-02-05 12:00 AM

Woke up and headed down to the race site. Got up a little late so I didn't have time to get my normal cup of coffee, considering the temperature when I was standing around waiting to start maybe it was a good thing!
Waiting around getting hot and waiting for my wave to start, saw some of the East Siders before the start.
