Run
Comments: Pretty much ran in a small group the first half, then split up coming back with some going ahead and some falling behind. Pace was easy going out, but I faded some coming back, By that time the sun was high and warming. My HR was well over tested LTHR for most of the last four miles. Damn that hurts! Splits per Garmin via Sportstracks: Time Dist. Pace Avg. HR 8:31 1 8:33 136 8:24 1 8:26 147 9:26 1.12 8:24 148 8:32 1 8:33 153 8:10 0.98 8:19 157 8:28 0.99 8:34 158 8:31 1 8:32 158 8:45 1 8:45 158 8:47 1 8:45 156 6:13 0.75 8:20 162 What would you do differently?: Nothing, this is about as hard a pace as I can maintain, at least 30"/mile faster than last week's half marathon. Post race
Warm down: Water, food, more talking. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of consistent training due to injury. Event comments: Very small, informal race in the memory of our friend Al who lost his battle to leukemia a few years ago. Al was an avid runner and triathlete, nice to remember him this way. Drove to site, registered, hit the bathrooms, then talked to folks a while .
None. Ten miles is plenty warmup.
