Comments:

I seeded myself further up this time, a few rows behind the elites. Still several kids and joggers around but not nearly as bad as last year. I was able to get past everyone I needed.

This time I did most of the passing as people always slow down. I probably only got passed by 4-5 people while in return I passed 50+. Something to occupy the mind while pounding it out. Mentally much more motivating than starting too far ahead and getting passed. Reel em in, hook the next, repeat.

Fantastic pace booty for the first 2K or so, and she was holding exactly my pace. Then she dropped back and I had to pass. :(

What would you do differently?:

Keep pushing, keep trying to go faster.

Post race
Warm down:

Postrace had choco milk which was a nice surprise, stretched a bit and met up with the relatives/wife/baby.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Fear of blowing up - each race I'll push harder and harder until it happens. Had much less sprint energy at the end which means I did the rest of the race better than before. Very strong on hills which is odd since I don't do much hill work. Still sprinted the last 100 m to stop a guy from passing me at the last minute. Only I am allowed to do that. :)

Event comments:

The belly dancers were a very nice surprise indeed - and very very hot.
