Swim
  • 05m 6s
  • 437 yards
  • 01m 10s / 100 yards
Comments:

Water was freezing cold. I hit the water and started to hyper-ventilate for the first 50 or so yards. Once my body adjusted, It was actually a good swi
What would you do differently?:

I need to invest in two things, a tri suit or tops and pants and a wetsuit. Wetsuit is budgeted for next year.
Transition 1
  • 03m 27s
Comments:

Well considering that I had just invested in new pedal and shoes three weeks ago and the past week I worked out once, I was happy with the transistion.
What would you do differently?:

Invest in tri shoes that have the one strap only, so I can just slip them on when I get on my bike. Those are budgeted for next year.

  • 44m 25s
  • 14.7 miles
  • 19.86 mile/hr
Comments:

Well, It was an alright ride.
What would you do differently?:

Need to spend a great deal more training time here.

Comments:

I almost toppled over when I tried to get my foot over. It was close but I made it.
What would you do differently?:

I have the quick elastic laces, now I just need to install them and use them.

Comments:

Great run. I felt good and even had enough to push the last mile.
What would you do differently?:

I should have worked the middle 2 miles a little harder. I relaxed a bit too much there.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk, grab water and bagels and banana. Get a massage. Have a free beer.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My weakness was the change in my job. I worked out once that whole week. I was planning on tapering but not like that.

Event comments:

Raffle prizes are great. If you stay you get more. Instead of trophies for the age group winners you get gift certificates for $25 to different places. If you don't claim it that instance, it gets raffled off at the end, so I always end up with 2 gc
