Run
Comments: I intended to go out slow and run negative splits the whole way. My goal was 2:10 (8:23 mile). But when I got out there I just ran comfortably. It was my first race over 10k, so I did not realize that I would fade at 14 miles. But I did beat my goal pace by 12 sec and overall time by over 3 min, so I am happy. What would you do differently?: Go out a little slower to save some legs for the final 1/3 of the race. Post race
Warm down: Saw my family at the Finish. Got my medal (yeah!). Got some grub and walked to the car with my wife and kids. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. I performed better than I had hoped. Next year I will shoot for sub 2hrs. Event comments: can't beieve I have never done this before age 38, but I will be back. Last updated: 2009-02-17 12:00 AM

Could not sleep all night. Got about 3 1/2 hrs total. Had Cream of Wheat at home and a PowerBar in the car. Drank water on the way to the race.
Walked 1/2 mile from my car and jogged/light stretch for 15min.
