Swim
Comments: My swim times had improved since entering so I was a little nervous about being 4th in the lane but there was no problem. The 2 guys in front of me went out too fast and I passed them easily when they slowed down and I kept up the the first guy no problem. I lost count of laps and never got the signal that I had 1 length left so when the guy in front of me got out I went ahead and got out too. I figured that since he was done I must be too! What would you do differently?: Maybe try to concentrate on going a little faster. I was so relaxed and I didn't really even feel tired when I was done. Of course, I rarely swim 750 meters then get out of the pool so that may have contributed. Transition 1
Comments: Times are just a guess as they were not separate from bike and run times. There was a good long run from pool to transition area. What would you do differently?: Practice getting into bike shoes with wet feet. Bike
Comments: The ride was great. Passed a few people in my wave and a few from the previous wave, got passed by a few fast guys. Transition 2
Comments: The chute from the road to the dismount line was too long and I went too slow. Oh well. Run
Comments: My legs felt like jelly but I pushed as hard as I could the whole time. Passed 5 people total, was passed by one guy. No mile markers so I had to guess whether I was going the pace I wanted. I pretty much was since my goal was around 25 minutes. Post race
Event comments: Great race to kick off the season. This was my first race last year and I bettered my time by over 30 minutes. Overall rankings include just the women and I was extremely happy about being top 10%. Last updated: 2009-02-17 12:00 AM

Got up early and ate eggs and toast. Woke up kids and husband, got in the van and left. They ate breakfast after we got there since there was a 3 hour wait between transition set up and my wave start.
Swam a few laps.
