Run
Comments: Actually managed to run under control for the whole race. Really did not go out as hard as I usually do and was able to keep my splits fairly consistant. Kept HR right where I thought it should be for this distance and came out of it with a nice time despite being sick with a head cold. The conditions were the worst I have ever experienced during a race. Blowing sleet and snow during the entire race. It felt like you had a head wind all the time. Actually wore sun glasses and it helped keep the stinging precipitation out of my eyes. What would you do differently?: Not be sick. Maybe just sit this one out. If I get sicker as a result then I will know today was a bad idea. Post race
Warm down: Ran inside. Grabbed a water and a sandwich and hit the road. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sick. Lot less energy than I would have liked going in to a 10 mile race. Event comments: Reasonably happy with this run. Took 10 minutes off of my PR for this distance with a pretty nasty head cold. Last updated: 2009-02-22 12:00 AM
