Swim
Comments: This was a good swim for me I learned a lot about what to do and what not to do.Drafting is a fine art that I will work on in future events I kept drafting off people that were just a little slower and I got my goggles kicked off twice and a swift kick in the throat which I had to stop all 3 times and re-adjust my self. After that I just swam wide of the main group and had no further problems. What would you do differently?: More open water swims would be helpful and more allaround training in the water. Transition 1
Comments: This went a lot faster then I thought it felt like I stood around longer trying to catch my breath. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: Leaving T1 you have several speed bumps to go over then down hill for a about a mile. Then i'ts into the campus parking lot then out to the main road that your on for most of the ride. From about mile 4 you start to go uphill steadly until the turn around elavation gain 1000 ft.The turn around was sweet you could just haul ass down hill I averaged 28 for a few miles then you hit the wind and it just sucked (or blowed)either way it made a lot more difficult to hold my speed. The last mile was back up the hill to T2 ( T1/T2 were the same place) and over the speed bumps.Overall this was a very good race even though it seemed like everyone passed me on the bike I'm happy. What would you do differently?: I need more speed and endurance training and maaaaybe a Tribike. Transition 2
Comments: Again It felt like it took longer but things went very smooth. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: I was going to take it easy on the run because of the problem with my left leg (which did not flair up at all through the whole run that made me very happy)because I did'nt want to have another injury to deal with before Boise .The course was a little hilly and the running in the dirt was a pain by now the temp was in the 80's and I was just tired. By mile 3 I started to cramp up in my quads so I walked to the aid station got some gateraid walked for a couple more minutes then proceded to run slowly to make sure I was not going to cramp up again.I was able to run the rest of the way to the finish line. What would you do differently?: Because of the injury I have not been running very much and I could feel that on this run. I definatly need some trail running experience. Post race
Warm down: Walked around had some water and an orange cheered the other competitors on and waited for Roni to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: I feel that i'm were I should be with the amount of training I've put in this year I'm very happy with my swim time Roni has taught me well over the winter. Event comments: I realy like an event that has a free BBQ for the post race activities. Last updated: 2009-02-24 12:00 AM
