Pre-race routine:

Gut up around 7 and had a piece of toast with pb and j, a banana, and some juice. The weather is looking promising so I am hoping for a good day.
Event warmup:

The start line was a ways away from the school so I jogged and up the hill to the start area and stretched a bit.

Comments:

Run felt good today. I started off feeling good and ended feeling good. I took a gel with me on this run just to see how I would do eating it and still running. I saw a water station coming up at about mile 8 and sucked it down and then downed a while cup of water. Didn't seem to bother my stomach so I guess it was a success.
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder on the uphills.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretching and mini-doughnut eating

Event comments:

Ended up placing 4/7 in my age group and 19/33 female for the whole 3-race series. Did better than last year of every race.

Age Group: 5/8
Overall: 92/154
Performance: Good
Course: Rolling hills on dirt and paved roads. Elevation is about 7000 feet. Most of the course is within the forested area of Black Forest, thus there is some protection from any wind. The exception to this are the latter miles of the 20K course, which is more exposed. There are some terrific views of the Pikes Peak and the Front Range mountains.
