Run
Comments: My timing chip didn't work so I had to wait for photographic evidence to calculate my time (Thanks Marathonfoto)! After punching in dozens of names and numbers I finally found pictures of the runners I finished with as my linked photos didn't have any other runners in the frame. I found the runner I crossed the finish line with in order to get my gun time and used Nat's 22 second differential to figure my unofficial chip time since we started together and I know that she can haul. What would you do differently?: I was very happy with my time as it was way beneath my goal and a 10k PR for me by over a minute. I do wish my chip had worked so that I could have "official results" and get my mug, but no big deal as I had alot of fun and really enjoy the whole P'tree experience. Post race
Warm down: Waited near the finish for Paula but I must have missed her going by as she ran a great race as well (52:08) with very moderate training. We walked to the car and drove back to my folks' house to pick up our kids for the Dunwoody parade, pool party and neighborhood fireworks. Nothing beats a bunch of cold beers at the pool after racing the Peachtree. It was a fantastic 4th! What limited your ability to perform faster: I'll need to incorporate some track work if I want to build up the speed to make it into the subseded group - which is my lifetime P'tree goal. Event comments: One of my favorite races and a great way to start the holiday. Last updated: 2009-02-27 12:00 AM

Woke up around 5am and ate an english muffin w/ peanut butter, half of a banana and washed it down with some grape G2. Drove to my parent's house and had my dad drop us off near the start. Thanks dad!
Walked around a little bit with my wife and did some light stretching. Saw Steph at the rear of the 1A corral and after saying hello decided to push toward the front of the time group. I weaved all the way up to the rope where I saw Nat and finally met her in person. We chatted until the gun went off.
