Overall Rank = 188/362

Pre-race routine:

Woke up. Ate some string cheese and coffee. Went through my gear list again to ensure I didn't forget any thing.
Potty time then drove to race.
Event warmup:

Light stretching.
Swim
  • 15m 5s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 50s / 100 yards
Comments:

Just could not get my glide down. In an effort to swim faster my technique was crap.
What would you do differently?:

More drills. Need to make technique second nature.
Transition 1
  • 01m 33s
Comments:

Could not get my feet clipped in. Don't know why. Just sucked.
Bike
  • 55m 30s
  • 16 miles
  • 17.30 mile/hr
Comments:

Tire slide off the asphalt within the first 200 yards and I fell over. That pretty well sums up the rest of the course.
Hills were killing me. The month off to try and let the heels heal has killed me. I could have easily done the course in 45 minutes 2 months ago. Look at my times from Kinetic Half.

What would you do differently?:

Not much I can do. Hells are hosed for right now.
Transition 2
  • 01m 56s
Comments:

Everything was wet. Getting socks on was rough. Double checked everything was put away and/or on.
What would you do differently?:

Just go. Don't make sure gear is put up during the race.
Run
  • 28m
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m  min/mile
Comments:

Dear Lord. My heels hurt. My feet are sucking and in pain. This was probably the absolutely worst run I have ever had in my life. Nothing was going right. Breathing was off so I got a side cramp for the whole run. Plantar Fasciitis was in full force so half way through there were tear welling up in the eyes.

What would you do differently?:

Amputation is currently a viable option... The fasciitis is killing me.
Post race
Warm down:

Hobbled to the bike rack and gathered my gear.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Plantar Fsciitis and the lack of training having the injury has caused.

Event comments:

Love this race. Will do it again next year. The large amount of hills on the course makes it a fairly fun course to challenge your ability on.
