Pre-race routine:

Had a bagel with cream cheese and a cups of coffee to loose everything up!
Event warmup:

Light strecthing and 1/2 mile run. Hit the head to make sure the coffee worked and it did!

Comments:

Run was good held an 8 minute pace for the 1st 8 then we turned into a 20+ mph head wind on the open water. BAM! Took everything I to try and maintain an 8:45 to the turn around. Running down wind I figured I could make up the time but I was spent for the last 2.5 miles. The wind was so strong, that the cups people were dropping at the aid stations were passing us at and 8:15 pace. Now that was funny.
What would you do differently?:

Post race
Warm down:

light run and some serious stretching. Hit the food from the Columbia restaurant. Always good!

Did a light 10 mile bike with my son late in the after noon to stretch everthing out.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The wind!!!!!!
