Pre-race routine:

had a light breakfast, 2 slices of apple trail bread, a banana and a protein shake (AES)
It wa snice that my running buddy Ray picked me up and drove me to the race, no pre race jitters that way!
Event warmup:

a couple of loops in the parking lot with the glastonbury runner's club women

Comments:

I expected the worst hills ever. Friends had told me how chalenging the course was! I was so mentally prepared that it was really no surprise when the two huge hills at mile 6 and about 8 showed up... I likes the road/ trail combination. I wore my trail shoes not knowing how big the trail portion was.. It help me feel confident during the muddy part!
What would you do differently?:

a finishing medal would be a great motivation because the course is so challenging!

Warm down:

just went to change into dry clothes and to the post race carbo reload!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

ugh..HILLS..:) althought I am quite strong on hills

Event comments:

I agree with the 5 year age group!!! I would have placed in the top 5 for the 30-34...
