Overall Rank = 107/697

Age Group Rank = 6/47
Pre-race routine:

Banana/water on the ride. Parked about 2 miles out and rode in. Forgot to grab my Cliff bar. Grrr
Event warmup:

Short swim. Felt good.
Swim
  • 16m 39s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 13s / 100 meters
Comments:

Black and Navy caps - bad idea - hard to see at a glance.
I must have gotten some of my suit juice inside my goggles, because they were extremely foggy. Had to stop and wipe them out a couple times during the swim.
What would you do differently?:

Wear metallic goggles stay focused on pace
Transition 1
  • 02m 32s
Comments:

Still fighting with the clasp on my helmet. Slid into my shoes easily. No socks!!
What would you do differently?:

Set up my helmet so the straps aren't twisted. Practice jumping on bike. Never really thought about doing that before.
Bike
  • 40m 46s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 18.25 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt strong on the bike. Perhaps too comfortable. I suprised to see that my pace was slower than Racine.
What would you do differently?:

I always feel like I should have pushed harder on the bike. Never really out of breath or fatigued. Don't know what I'm waiting for. I would like to get some aerobars before the olympic. Need to remember to pull up.
Transition 2
  • 01m 19s
Comments:

pretty smooth transition
Run
  • 26m 36s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

First time I didn't feel like stopping the entire run although I didn't pass a single female. Walked the water stops and grabbed Gatorade at the first stop and water/gatorade at the second. Pushed it home.
What would you do differently?:

Pick up the pace right at mile 3 instead of waiting to spot the finish line.
Post race
Warm down:

Recoverite

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Confidence to push myself on the bike and perhaps overall. No soreness at all the following day. I even had a great swim Monday morning.

Event comments:

Great race overall. Next time I'll have a better feeling for how far the parking is and plan my morning better so I don't have to stress about making it before transition closes.
A little annoyed with the black and navy swim caps. Too difficult to quickly spot other swimmers.
Had a GREAT day and will most likely do it again.
